The Rongai Route approaches Kilimanjaro from the remote northern side near the Kenyan border. It's the driest route and the least crowded, offering a more solitary trekking experience.
The Marangu Route is Kilimanjaro's original and most established path — the only route with hut accommodation instead of camping. Known as the 'Coca-Cola Route,' it's the most affordable but has the lowest success rate due to its shorter acclimatization time.
The Umbwe Route is Kilimanjaro's most direct and challenging path — a steep, demanding climb for experienced trekkers who want the ultimate test. It's the least crowded route with dramatic scenery.
